The Associated Press on Monday called the recall races for both Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price with voters ousting both officials.

East Bay voters have tossed Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price out of office by wide margins, marking a stunning moment in which two prominent Democratic officials were recalled just two years into their respective tenures.

It was my goal to make Oakland safer, cleaner, and more vibrant,” Thao said in a statement. “And I am proud of what we accomplished together.”
