AccuWeather meteorologists say the Western Pacific Ocean is experiencing a surge in tropical activity this week, with four storms stretching from Vietnam to the Mariana Islands. As one typhoon makes its exit from the Philippines Monday,

The first storm, Typhoon Yinxing, affected the north of the island of Luzon last week where it brought nearly 250mm (10in) of rain in some areas. It then weakened as it drifted westwards and is now dissipating over central Vietnam.

The Philippines has scrambled to deal with multiple calamities wreaked by four back-to-back typhoons and storms in less than a month.
