The antitrust trial over allegedly monopolistic practices in the $200 billion digital advertising industry could lead to significant changes.

The judge who will decide whether Google holds a monopoly over technology that matches buyers and sellers of online advertising must choose whether to believe what Google executives wrote or what they’ve said on the witness stand.

Alphabet unit Google won a legal challenge on Wednesday against a 1.49 billion euro ($1.7 billion) European Union antitrust fine, while Qualcomm failed to repeal a penalty.

Antitrust officials had imposed the fine over how the search giant might have restricted the way that some websites displayed ads sold by its rivals.
