The State Department (DoS) in the United States announced it greenlighted the sale of 32 F-35 fighter jets to Romania under a deal estimated at USD 6.5 billion and financed under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) facility and from other loans guaranteed by the US Government.

The U.S. State Department has approved the potential sale of F-35 aircraft to Romania in a deal valued at $7.2 billion, the Pentagon said in a release on Friday.

The approval of the $7.2 billion deal for the fifth-generation fighter comes as NATO allies are worried about Russian aggression.
