Princess Kate is set to make her most prominent return to royal life as host of the annual Christmas carol service at London's Westminster Abbey.

The Princess of Wales is making a steady return to royal duties following what has been one of the most tumultuous years of her life. In March, Kate confirmed she had been diagnosed with an unknown form of cancer.

The princess has begun to return to some public duties since finishing chemotherapy in September.
