Mountain Fire initially started 8:51 a.m. Nov. 6 in Ventura County. It has burned 19,904 acres after being active for eight days. By Thursday evening, a crew of 1,146 firefighters effectively contained 91% of the fire. The cause of it is still under investigation.

Nearly a week after the destructive Mountain Fire destroyed more than a hundred buildings and torched tens of thousands of acres of brush in Ventura County, firefighters are defending their response to the blaze as some residents return to their burnt homes.

The Mountain fire has burned more than 20,000 acres and destroyed 134 structures in Ventura County. It was about 26% contained as of Sunday morning.
